8 December 2024 13:00-16:00Digital event (Zoom)

Code, Community, and Creativity

Join us for this Digital Pink Sunday, whether you're in Sweden or Argentina - our Zoom doors are open for everyone!

Have you ever wondered what it takes to create a more inclusive and impactful tech industry? It starts with us—our stories, our actions, and the ways we support each other. Rawan Abid, a Software Engineering Student will give an engaging talk, filled with personal insights,  uncovering how fostering collaboration and celebrating diversity fuels innovation. Learn how to uplift those around you, build meaningful connections, and leave a legacy that reflects your values and drives the future of tech forward.

But Pink Sundays aren’t just about ideas—it’s about action and discovery. That’s where the Nim programming language comes in. Often described as “LISP in Python’s clothing,” Nim is a fast, quirky, and highly capable language that blends the power of a compiled language with the simplicity of scripting. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll take your first steps into Nim’s world, exploring its syntax, oddities, and the creative potential it offers.

By the end of the day, you’ll leave with more than just new knowledge—you’ll walk away with inspiration, practical skills, and a stronger connection to a community dedicated to innovation and inclusivity.

Let’s create something remarkable—together!

A Tour of Nim

Workshop by: Renee Gyllensvaan

The Nim programming language is a bit of an oddball. "A LISP in Python's clothing," a fast, compiled language with granular control that largely _feels_ like a scripting language. In this workshop, we'll get a taste for what it's like to program in this hidden gem of a language, and take the first few steps toward learning its oddities.
