Next.js is everywhere in modern web development - but it’s often explained in a way that makes it feel way more complicated than it actually is. In this workshop, we take it back to basics and introduce Next.js from the ground up, even if you’ve never heard of it before!

Next.js is a web framework built on top of React that helps you create full websites more easily. If React is the tool you use to build user interfaces, Next.js adds the missing pieces you need to turn those interfaces into a complete, fast, and well-structured website.

You’ll learn how Next.js builds on React to make creating full websites easier, handling things like pages, routing, and efficient loading for you. Through a small, hands-on example, we’ll explore file-based routing, the difference between server-side and client-side rendering, and why performance and SEO come up so often in Next.js conversations.

The goal isn’t to build a big app - it’s to leave with a clear mental model of Next.js, a solid first experience, and the confidence to keep exploring on your own

Programming language: JavaScript

    Learning Session

The world through the eyes of a self-driving car

Session by: Roshni Navinchandra, Elena Fotina, Sara Thiringer & Sara Roth

Welcome to an evening with the Kognic team  where we will learn about the technology behind increasingly automated driving, and the challenges which keeps us from just relaxing in the back-seat already. We will talk about sensor setups, data needs for machine learning, human-machine collaboration, advanced 2D and 3D data visualisation and ethical dilemmas. Apart from a Kognic-lead presentation, you will have the chance to dive into the world of autonomous driving and try to spot pedestrians, vehicles and the environment through the eyes of a self-driving car.
