Bring Your Own Project - let's code & hang!

After an amazing turnout in Stockholm, we’re so excited to introduce "Bring Your own Project - Pink Sundays" to Gothenburg! 

We’re creating space for what so many of us need more of: uninterrupted time, shared motivation, and the joy of coding together!

Bring whatever you’re working on - a school assignment, portfolio project, tricky work task, hackathon idea, or that project you’ve been meaning to start. Settle in for a few focused hours of coding surrounded by women and non-binary coders at all stages of their journey. Don't have a project to bring? Don't worry, we’ll have coding prompts if you need a little inspiration!

This is a collaborative, judgment-free space - ask questions, swap ideas, or quietly lock into your flow. Our code mentors will be here to help you debug, discuss architecture, or brainstorm ideas whenever you need a hand. And of course - no Pink Sunday without yummy fika to keep us going!

Come as you are. Code what you want. We can’t wait to hang with you, Gothenburg !

Finding Your Why

Session by: Thelma Aretha Kaliu

After years in the gender and development sector, Thelma repeatedly faced the same challenge: women struggling to access basic services, especially during crises. In trying to solve this, she unexpectedly stumbled into programming and built a simple application that reduced response time and improved access to support.

Technology shapes how we work, communicate, govern, and imagine the future. When women and non-binary people are absent from the spaces where code is written, that future becomes narrow, biased, and incomplete. This talk shares the why behind pushing for a gender-equal tech industry: introducing coding early, supporting those already in tech, and pushing companies to practice real inclusion. Because technology should work for everyone—and that only happens when everyone helps build it.

Thelma Aretha Kaliu is the Co-Founder of GenHub Malawi and works at the intersection of gender and technology. She uses technology as a practical tool to improve responses to gender-based violence and equality. holds a Master’s degree in Gender Studies from the University of Gothenburg and continues to advocate for inclusive, people-centred tech that supports safer and more equitable systems.

This Pink Sunday is all about focused co-working and community support. Bring your own project - whether it's a school assignment, portfolio project, job application task, hackathon idea, or something you've been meaning to start. There will be code mentors available to help you debug, discuss architecture, or brainstorm ideas. No structured workshop, no pressure – just a safe and productive space to build, learn, and connect with other women and non-binary people in tech!
