The secret’s out… Stockholm, we’re talking Web Accessibility

For our upcoming Pink Sunday, we’re diving into a topic that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves - but absolutely should: Web Accessibility!

Whether you’re just starting your journey or already working in tech, this event is for you. You’ll learn how to build websites that don’t just look good, but work for everyone - using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in a hands-on workshop led by Rikku Bölske. We’ll explore how to write inclusive code from the start and gain practical tools to build with accessibility in mind.

To broaden the perspective, we’re also welcoming Adrienn Pozsgai, who brings a powerful, person-centered take on accessibility. With a background in special education, she’ll help us see beyond screen readers and visual impairments — showing how inclusive tech can support a wide range of needs and open up digital spaces for everyone

This is your chance to gain a high-impact skill, boost your coding confidence, and connect with others in the Pink Programming community. Expect a warm, welcoming space filled with creativity, learning, and fun conversations.

Let’s make the web a better place — one accessible line of code at a time. See you there!

Why Digital Accessibility Matters – A Person-Centered Perspective

    Session by: Adrienn Pozsgai

Digital accessibility is often thought of only in terms of screen readers and visual impairments—but it's so much more than that. Adrienn Pozsgai invites you to see accessibility through a broader, more human lens. Drawing from real-life experiences with children with disabilities, she explores how technology can empower people with a wide range of conditions to actively participate in the digital world. Whether you're new to accessibility or looking for a fresh perspective, this session will open your eyes to why inclusive design truly matters.

Adrienn Pozsgai has a background in special education
and has worked closely with children with disabilities, using assistive technologies like eye-tracking devices, learning applications, and communication tools. Now transitioning into tech to become a full-stack developer, she combines her passion for technology and accessibility to advocate for more inclusive digital experiences.

Building Inclusive Websites: A Beginner's Guide to Accessibility

        Workshop by: Rikku Bölske

Web accessibility is a web developer practice and skill which is often overlooked! But is it that boring? We’ll explore the topic while coding in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Previous coding experience is helpful, but not required, as we will reintroduce the fundamentals of coding a web site, but with accessibility in mind!

Rikku studied UX and graphics programming at university
and enjoys combining engineering and humanities – web accessibility is no exception! In a recent developer role at Zettle by PayPal – it was an immediate “Yes!” to the invitation to collaborate, learn and implement best practices – to make the company web site compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA.
