Who are we and what do we do?

Pink Programming is Sweden’s biggest network for programmers who are women and non-binary! We’re a non-profit organization who works for a gender equal tech industry, with the mission is to inspire more women and non-binary people to discover coding and choose a career in tech, to support and boost those already working in the industry and also, to help companies to become more inclusive.

The team behind Pink Programming is a small office in Malmö, and a happy bunch of volunteers across Sweden! Some work as developers, others have joined us to be photographers, event coordinators or to be another pair of helping hands during our various events.

As a member of this fast-growing organization, you have the opportunity to make a big impact and you get access to a fantastic network of women and non-binary in tech.

What is a Pink Programming event?

Pink Programming Sundays and After Works are our popular coding & networking events, usually organized in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. At these events, we welcome women and non-binary people of all ages, backgrounds or programming experience to try out, build on existing skills and meet other developers and curious coders.

When will you hear from us?

We are very much looking forward to meeting our next volunteer stars on our Pink sky, so please apply as soon as possible! Last day to apply is November 12th. We’ll get back to you during November/December.

The roles we are looking for:

Event manager

Malmö & Stockholm

As the event manager, you have the overall responsibility for the coding events in your city! By your side, you have another event manager and a team of volunteers. We are looking for you who are structured, know how to keep deadlines and think it’s fun to engage, motivate and inspire your team members into doing a great job! We think you’re great at coordination, and if you have previous experience in events and project management, that’s a great bonus! You will be working closely with the Pink Office and the event managers in the other cities.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Coordinate the events, tasks and responsibilities for the coding events (on average 2-3 events during Spring season)
  • Keep track of planning and deadlines for the event season
  • Manage and engage your team
  • Plan the event content together with your team, and sometimes with a partner company, and serve as a bridge between the partner and the event team.
  • Help to build the event concept together with the other event managers and the Pink office.

We also think you:

  • Can take charge but also ask for help if needed
  • Are proficient in both Swedish and English
  • Would enjoy being a representative and the ”face” of Pink Programming during the events
  • Are interested and curious about the world of programming (but you don’t have to know to program yourself)

Time spent as an event manager: 6-14 h/month

Quotes by volunteers

- Pink has helped enormously to open doors. It’s the best community when it comes to boosting confidence. And the IT industry really needs diversity, we are all needed.

- Can not imagine myself without being a part of Pink!

 - Every Pinker became my role model. Growing up I was always fascinated with IT and tech, but it was a typically male-dominated career option, it never even occurred to me that I could do it too. Pink gave me the courage for a career change.
