From Cloud Basics to Career Growth

For our first Pink Sunday of the season, we’re giving you the perfect chance to demystify one of tech’s biggest buzzwords: the cloud!

In a beginner-friendly workshop led by Cloud Engineer, Akshata Mongha, you’ll go hands-on with AWS - logging into the console, exploring services, and even setting up your very first cloud resource. No prior experience needed, just your laptop and curiosity. By the end, you’ll not only understand what the cloud is but also how to start building in it yourself.

But thriving in tech isn’t only about skills - it’s also about sustainability. That’s why we’re also bringing you an inspirational session with Madalina Andreea, Software Developer,  who will share her journey of switching cultures and navigating workplace dynamics while learning how to grow without burning out. Expect insights on collaboration, trust, and what a truly healthy career can look like.

As always, Pink Sundays is about more than the agenda - it’s about meeting other curious minds in tech, exchanging experiences, and discovering new ideas together - see you there!

Inspirational Session & Coding Workshop

Thriving at Work – talking about what a healthy and supportive Career in tech means to me

Session by: Madalina Andreea

What does it really take to feel good at work— and to grow without burning out? In this talk, I’ll share lessons and stories from my previous job, working in Swedish tech environment but having to switch to Canadian working culture at the snap of a finger, touching on team culture, collaboration, trust, and work-life balance. I’ll explore what makes a workplace feel safe and inspiring (and what doesn’t), especially for those starting out in their careers. Whether you’ve just landed your first job or are finding your place in a team, this session will give you tools and reflections to help you not just survive, but thrive, for yourself, for your team, but also for the company.

Outside of coding, she loves bouldering, nature, staying active, and baking treats to share with friends.

Cloud 101- Your first step into AWS

Workshop by: Akshata Mongha

If the cloud feels like a big mystery, this workshop will make it simple. We’ll start from zero — what the cloud actually is, why companies use it, and where AWS fits in. Then we’ll get hands-on: you’ll log into the AWS console, explore the services, and set up your first simple cloud resource. You’ll see the cloud in action, understand the basics, and know exactly where to go next in your AWS journey. No prior experience needed — just bring your laptop and curiosity!

Akshata is a Cloud Engineer at Etraveli Group with over a decade in tech and a career that’s taken me through many different roles.
She loves running workshops and geeking out about all things tech — preferably over a strong cup of coffee. When Akshata is not in the cloud (literally), you’ll probably find her in the pool swimming laps or trying out new adventures.
